Medley Residence Buckingham Slate Roof
Project Overview
For the Medley residence, American Roofing & Metal Company installed 80 lb. modified underlayment across the roof deck prior to installing Buckingham Slate, quarried from the hills of Virginia. Copper snow guards were installed across the field of the roof to prevent snow from sliding off in large sheets, and copper flashings and vents were installed throughout to protect all roof penetrations and transitions.
To complete the system, new 18 oz. copper Euro half-round gutters were installed around the full perimeter of the home, along with copper-lined collector heads and round downspouts finished with Euro clean-outs.
This was American Roofing’s second project for the Medley family, following two previous homes where George and the team handled their roofing needs. The slate and copper system has held up well since installation, with the relationship continuing well past project completion.
